Sorry for the long absence…

Hi there,

Apologies for not keeping up to date with my blog. Real life keeps getting in the way of my on-line life.

My daughter, Oak, was married on June 10th, and that kept me very busy! Oak did most of the work, but I was her go-to gal for all sorts of things. I also had the honour of making the cake. It was such a delight to make: A simple three tier chocolate cake with beautiful white ribbon-style icing and real roses on each tier. Lovely! The whole day was lovely, and went off without a hitch.

Hot on the heels of the wedding was the departure of my dear friend, Gina, who returned to her home in British Columbia on June 16th, after 32 years in Ottawa. We tried to spend as much time together as possible before she had to go.

Now, we’re improving our property. We’ve widened the garden path that leads to the spa, added lots of fresh pea gravel, and soon there’ll be new and bigger flagstones to walk on. That said, I hope you know you are welcome to use the path leading to the front door, and then cross the deck, if you prefer. : )

Inside The Woodway, I’ve got lots going on:

Firstly, I received my aromatherapy accreditation from the Pacific Institute in California. (As you can imagine, that too kept me busy.)

Being accredited doesn’t mean I have all the answers when it comes to essential oils, but I certainly know more than I did before I began the program. I also have a good idea of where to look for answers to your questions, so, if you need help understanding essential oils, drop me a line.

If you’re having a harder time with stairs these days, you’ll be pleased to hear that I am in the planning stage of opening another treatment room. This one is for pedicures only. It’s upstairs, the little room on the left as you enter the spa. Being above grade, it will be a lot easier to access. More on that soon!

If you haven’t heard of my new signature treatment, The Full-Body-Facial you might want to check it out.

In a nutshell, here’s how it goes:

Imagine yourself lying on your tummy, soft music playing, a hot towel infused with green tea and essential oils on your back.

Then, an exfoliating Black Oxygen scrub gently relaxes your muscles while removing dry skin cells, improving circulation and nourishing your skin.

We follow with an invigorating application of hemp oil infused with a custom blend of essentials oils. (You tell me what you like, and I’ll blend something lovely just for you from my extensive inventory.)

After your back is renewed, we treat your legs the same way – back and then front. Imagine how relaxing that is!

Then, you enjoy a custom facial, including a cleanse and exfoliation, massage of face, neck and shoulders and a mask chosen to address your needs.

Is there more?

You bet!

While your mask works its magic, I will scrub your arms and hands with Black Oxygen, and then apply your custom blend of hemp and essential oils.

You’ll feel smooth as silk all over!

More hot towels to remove your facial mask, and then we finish with gels and creams to give you the glowing countenance you crave.

All that is just $99 plus HST.

Dare I say it’s the best spa bargain in Ottawa?

I hope it’s the best spa bargain in Ontario, because I want to give you a great deal and a great experience when you visit The Woodway.

So, if you’d like to experience The Full Body Facial or any of the other custom treatments available at The Woodway, give me a call, 613-422-9435 or send me an email heather@woodwayesthetics.com to book your appointment today.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you soon.

Heather : )
